Biography

Théophile Margellos is President of the Boards of Appeal at the EUIPO seated in Alicante, Spain, since 2013 and the Head of the Boards of Appeal Mediation Service at the EUIPO since 2012. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Athens, Greece, and his LL.M. in private international law and PhD in comparative, civil and commercial law. from the University of Strasbourg, France.

He acted as a member of the Permanent Advisory Committee (SACEPO) at the EPO, Munich, Germany, and a member of the Management Board and of the Board of Administration at the EPI, Munich; Germany. He was also Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Jules Verne de Picardie University, Amiens, France, a référendaire at the EU Court of Justice, Luxembourg, and member of the Legal Service of the EU Commission, Brussels, Belgium.
