Marko Ilešič

Marko Ilešič is a Judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union since 2004. He was elected a Professor of Civil, Commercial and Private International Law at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, and acted as a Vice-Dean and Dean at the Faculty of Law of the same University.

He also featured as a Honorary Judge and President of Chamber at the Labour Court in Ljubljana, President of the Sports Tribunal of Slovenia, President of the Arbitration Chamber of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, Arbitrator at the Chamber of Commerce of the former Yugoslavia and Slovenia, Arbitrator at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, Board of Appeal member of UEFA and FIFA. He was also the President of the Union of Slovene Lawyers’ Association, member of the International Law Association, member of the International Maritime Committee and several other international law associations.
