Biography

Emilia Mišćenić is an Associate Professor at the Chair of International and European Private Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Rijeka. She obtained her master degree from the Europa-Institut Universität des Saarlandes, Germany, and her doctoral degree at the scientific study programme Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät Karl-Franzens Universität Graz, Austria. She authored the book on consumer loan agreements “Gegenwart und Zukunft der Verbraucherkreditverträge in der EU und in Kroatien“, cited in the opinion of AG Trstenjak in the CJEU case C-453/10, Pereničová et Perenič.

She was awarded with the National Science Award granted by the Croatian Parliament in 2011, and with the award of the University of Rijeka Foundation in 2012. In 2013, she was selected by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia as one of the twenty most successful research assistants fulfilling special criteria of scientific excellence. She frequently teaches at the summer programme at the Faculté Libre de Droit Université Catholique de Lille, France. In the past three years she has acted as an legal adviser to the Croatian Ministry of Finance and the Croatian State Attorney’s Office.
